Are there sound emulation problems with MAME 0.169? I just hooked up my speakers in my cabinet rebuild, and I notice that Galaga, Ms. Pac Man, and Phoenix in particular, play some of their sounds incorrectly, the best way to describe it is 'out of tune' at different times, which is especially noticeable in the music in these games.

0.172 is released in just a few hours. Are you able to try with the latest build and what's the o/s and specs of the rig in your cab?

Upgrading is no problem except for the roms, which can take hours depending on where you get them. The rig is an Intel i5 4670 @3.4 Ghz, Win 7 64-bit, 8gb ram, so it should be able to handle MAME classics and then some. In the Galaga roms, Namco Rev. B has the sound issue, but Midway doesn't. For Ms. Pac Man and Phoenix, I don't think there are viable alternates, only bootleg versions.

Solved- it turned out to be my HLSL settings. Not even sure which ones yet, I just know that when I disable the .ini file, the sound is fine again on all games.
