Title: Older Veritcal Games Not Displaying Properly
Post by: dheck on March 24, 2016, 07:25:15 pm
I am getting rolling images and sound issues while trying to play older vertical games like pacman and donkey kong.

GroovyMame .171 and CRTEMUdriver on Windows 7 64 bit.

Any help would be appreciated!

That's because the low refresh rate due to high vertical resolution (288p). Try either one of the following solutions:

- Use the arcade_15 preset
- Adjust the v-hold potentiometer.

The sound issue can be fixed by either:

- Enabling -multithreading in mame.ini
- Forcing -syncrefresh (sound pitch will be lower)

I edited the mame.ini file.  I changed monitor from custom to arcade_15 and I am still getting the rolling images.

Enabling hyperthreading seems to have fixed the sound issue.

Also I have a 27" Sony CRT TV.  I do not believe they had analog pots for V and H adjustment?
