Okay, I think I read everything on this guy's website yesterday. I really, really, really want a handheld Atari 2600! He has pretty detailed instructions on how he does most of his tricks. None of it looks to be beyond my technical skill level. I'm seriously thinking of building one of these when my cab is finished. The only problem I see is making a case for it. I don't have access to the kind of milling machinery he does, so making one the same way he does it would be out of the question for me. I'm pretty sure I could build a one-off case out of fiberglass though... giving this some serious thought.

I was pretty impressed as well. After seeing it, I picked up three Atari 2600's along with a Vectrex locally. I am ebaying the best 2600. It goes up at around 8pm tonight. In testing it I played a load of games, missle command, jr. pac-man (actually a very playable and fun pac version unlike the 2600 pac-man original *yuck*) galaxian, defender II, poleposition, centipede, a bunch more. They are actually still really fun. I was surprised. I also noted that they would look pretty good on a small screen as well. I think I am going to do minor repairs on the other two and ebay them as well along with some controllers, but I will be keeping my eye out for more when I can start another project.
