Hey Guys,
Sorry for the neophyte question here, I am learning more and more everyday. So please bear with me... And thanks in advance. I have scoured the internet and I cannot find the answer to this.
I am trying to use (at least for now, for simplicity) the newest version of MameUI .171. I recently purchased a 25" Billabs multisync CRT and an ArcadeVGA 5000. After tackling some severe hardware issues, I am finally to the point of trying to configure Mame with my card to get the best video benefits, which is supposed to be with this card, using directdraw with hardware stretching disabled. I am using Windows 7 64-bit and the 64-bit build of MameUI. My direct X is 11. Drivers for the video card seem to be installed correctly, and dxdiag.exe says everything is A.O.K.
When I use MameUI and try to configure video options, using DirectDraw is not available in the video settings tab drop down menu. Thus in the option box below, I am not even given the option of disabling hardware stretching. It is present, but grayed out, and locked, I assume because DirectDraw isn't presented as an option.
I've downloaded the command line version as well, and configured the options in the .ini with no luck...
So, I guess my ultimate question is this; Is directdraw still available to be used with Mame, or is that no longer supported?
Thanks in advance.

Nope, DDraw was removed:

Thanks for pointing me to that.
So, it seems that from what I could gather from reading that thread, that mame .170 was the last version to support directdraw?
Haha. I just have to laugh at the coincidences here. It's been 15 years since I made my first Mame Machine and I have used it ever since without staying up to date on these happenings. Back then I was like, WOW, you can actually buy a video card that has RGB and sync outputs at 15htz to run a true arcade CRT!!! "Some day!!!" I thought, when I have the time/extra money. So, as soon as I decide to update my machine (roughly a month ago) with the nice arcade CRT I always wanted, with an actual arcadeVGA card (instead of my scavenged consumer TV CRT with s-video and an old voodoo 3000), basically the entire basis of what makes the arcadeVGA card viable is omitted from Mame, and Within DAYS of me deciding to complete this project. LOL.
Literally, I was ordering things online to update my machine when this newest release of mame was being released! I guess lessons learned from not doing my homework more thoroughly.
Yep, that's my luck.
Anyways, thanks for the help.

I'll admit I haven't really followed what is going on with this as I don't use DirectDraw. However, there are some options that they are going add to help support what you want to do with D3D and BGFX. Supposedly, it is the "Cleanstretch" option. So, keep an eye out for the next release if that is something you need.

Thanks, Lamprey
I reverted back to .170 and got everything going great. Video looks amazing; spot-on now using my setup.
Thanks for taking your time to help me out.
