I was thinking if installing wheels on my cab so it can be wheeled around. I don't want large looking wheels, and I went to HD today and they have some 2 inch ones that are rated 90lbs. I don't know what the consequences are if my cab exceeds the weight and what happens to the wheels? They won't turn?
Don't know how much a cab typically weighs so...

Would you be installing 2 corner wheels on the back of the cab so that it can be leaned back like a dolly?
...or would you be installing 4 casters on the bottom so it can be wheeled upright?
If that latter, then I would say 90lbs x4 is 360lbs. If your machine weighs more than that, it must be an Atari cab. >:D

So the allowable weight total is based on combination of all 4 wheels?

That is how I always understood it. The manufacture isn't going to know how many wheels you intend to use so the weight is "per wheel".

Also, it is totally possible to design your cabinet so it has huge wheels that you can't even see (like Atari cockpits do).
I usually move most of my games via dolly, even the ones that have wheels. The dolly is smooth and easy every time and never gets stuck on something microscopic like tiny wheels do.

i recommend locking casters and now include them on all builds. Moving the cab makes things much easier for cleaning and maintenance. I have several cabs and having them on wheels makes moving them much much easier. When the casters are locked, they pretty much are immovable.
