Title: ArcadeVGA 5000 vs. Billabs BL25c90t
Post by: Mattreyu on March 16, 2016, 12:10:32 pm
Hello All,

I am having trouble with a very recently purchased ArcadgeVGA 5000 card.  I am trying to use it with a brand new Billabs CRT BL25c90t multisync monitor.  Without going into undo detail yet, I am humbly and graciously asking for advice or help or (scientific wild-ass guesses) at this point.

In short, the problem seems to be hardware, not software related, as it exists immediately upon powerup.  In short, if the Billabs monitor is connected to the arcadeVGA card via any video port, my computer BIOS halts and I get a BIOS video error immediately at power up and blank monitor(s).    If I wait and boot up and I connect the billabs monitor to the arcadeVGA in windows, It causes a blank screen, which is immediately remedied by simply unplugging the Billabs.  With my limited knowledge of electronics, it almost seems as if a short exists in the monitor itself...?  BUT, as the Billabs is a multisync capable of 31khz I can connect it to my old embedded motherboard video, and the computer boots properly, with no errors.  The monitor displays, and seems to be working just fine.  I even tried the Billabs on another computer, and it also displayed fine.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue, combining the arcadeVGA with this particular monitor, as it seems I may not be the only one?

Thanks in advance, Matt.

Did I say/ask something the wrong way? Or is there another place I should be asking these silly neophyte questions, and I've offended?

Do I smell funny?  That's it, isn't it?

No, wait! Oh, God! Am I in the twilight zone and I've become invisible and intangible in this dimension to others around me and I'm just now starting to notice????  Stuck for eternity as a miserable phantom unable to interact with the world???

Am I... dead???

It must have happened when I tried to discharge my monitor... knew I should've worn rubber boots!  No wonder that new girl at work won't even look at me...

 ???

Oh wait! Shew! She just called me a loser.  All is well!!! haha.

If you're taking the time to read this, thanks.  All in good fun.  Just trying to um, break the ice?
