Title: Gnd in IPAC/OPTIPAC
Post by: bigmoe on January 14, 2004, 02:51:50 pm
Hello all,

I'm designing a DB25 wiring interface for detachable CPs, and I need to know how many pins I have available.

Does anyone here know if the Gnd in the IPAC and OPTIPAC can be wired together (and so take only one pin over the db25 connection)?

Many thanks!

b

I use the optipac's GND for other stuff(coin door, admin buttons) not on the control panel. The big wire coming out of the wiring block has 50 wires, 1 for each input(up down left right p1b1 p1b2 coin start etc) that I could POSSIBLY have on the panel. The combined total of Ipac2 and Optipac is 48, plus 1 for GND and 1 for 5v, so 50 total  ;D

Might want to have a look at my thread here:

I had the same idea, but am starting to reconsider the design decision.
