I am going to use this slot cutting bit http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Groover_134.html (http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Groover_134.html) (t5420) so would I need a 3/8" guide bearing to make a slot 3/8" deep? If not what size guide bearing for 3/8" slot depth.

No to the 3/8" bearing. If you want 3/8" deep that is 9.525 mm. They list two bearings that are more or less than that. I don't see anything that is precisely what you want, but I may not have looked super hard:
TB870 - 9mm Depth - 22mm diam
9.525mm Depth -- What you want
TB760 - 10mm depth - 20mm diam

thanks for the reply's but I can not find one with a 1/4" hole to fit it onto the arbor.
I can not find one at 9.525mm so would 10mm do?

it's best to buy them as a set so they are machined to fit together. most have a 5/16ths hole.

thanks for that but I would like to buy from the uk. and also it is the bearing I am looking for.

I'd guess that it's work. I don't know how accurate that site is, but when looking at the Groover, they have a link to the Guide Bearings. If the chart is right, then the TB760 - 10mm is the one you want. But, you'd want to double check to verify they work together. Maybe email them and verify with them, since they should know.
-
ok thank you. I have been emailing them and they told me witch bits to get for what I want so all sorted now.
-
which sizes or parts did you order (for posterities sake) it will help out someone else in the future.

I went with theses bit witch will give me two slot's 10mm deep and 1.5mm and 2mm wide.
