Title: Cruis'n Series Steering Issues
Post by: iessthanmike on March 06, 2016, 10:10:33 am
Hey all

Months-long lurker, first post.  Working on my driving cab - an old, busted Cruis'n cab that I've managed to make old and semi-working.  Converting it to a MAME racing cab, and I managed to get SFRush playable, much to my own happiness.

Fired up the Cruis'n series (World and USA both have the same issue) -  went through the calibration in the beginning, no issues.  The steering wheel works perfectly in the menu system - choosing a track, car, and shifting-preference is a breeze.  There's even this helpful arrow that shows how far the wheel is turned while choosing, and its calibrated well.  Once the game starts though, the wheel pulls HARD right.  By counter-steering all the way to the left, the car goes straight - which is ideal if Derek Zoolander was playing the game.  Unfortunately, I need to be able to turn left.

Anyone run into this before?   :banghead:

I mention this problem in my software log.  It's one of the games that after calibration, you have to completely exit out of the game then re-enter to get it to work.  I'm not sure why.... it's just some kind of quirk.

If you still have issues after a restart, try deleting the nvram file for cruisn usa (and world).  When you start it up again, you will have to recalibrate your wheel in the game but that should take care of it

I am just getting into this.. I have Grand Prix II that is converted into a Crusin's dual cab.

Are you guys using the Crusin's steering Wheel for the mame conversion or did you switch out to another wheel?

Thanks
