Title: Help Making Rush Happ Steering Wheel Return to Center without Force Feedback
Post by: amplibax on March 01, 2016, 01:03:32 am
I have a non working San Francisco Rush that I am planning on converting to a MAME driving cab. I would like to try to use the original steering wheel but I don't want to drop a bunch of cash on the servo amp and all the other stuff required to set up the force feedback. I will just use an A-Pac to connect the Pots to the PC. I would be happy if the wheel would just return to center through some sort of mechanical means like with springs or bungees. I was just wondering if anyone could offer some tips or suggestions or if anyone has actually done this. Thanks!

Also does anyone have a good source for some pots that will fit for the steering wheel and controls? A couple of them are bad but I would just like to replace them.

Pull your bad POT and take it to any local electronic parts store, you dont need anything special just make sure it has a threaded neck like the one your pulled and make sure its the same voltage. :)

You also have to turn it and make sure it has the same rotational travel.  That's actually the harder part about replacing some old pots, but typically it's possible to find a replacement.
