Title: Adding Button to Existing Joystick
Post by: bionictoothpick on February 28, 2016, 06:15:44 pm
Hello, I have two MadCatz XBOX 360 fighsticks side by side. I want to put a button on the left side of one and the right side of the other for flipper buttons.

Any advice for drilling the holes through the plastic?

I was just going to splice wires to let the new button share an input.

Thanks,

Neils

My first thought is, why?  Those are expensive sticks.  I'd re-think it for a while before actually doing it.

If you STILL want to do it, I'd use a Dremel and carefully cut and make the hole bigger slowly.  The lip of the button should cover any imperfections.  Just go SLOW.  But before you cut, make sure the button you put in has room inside to fit.  Again, do this BEFORE you cut anything.

Good Luck.

Yes, they would be expensive to replace (I got the pair in 2010 for $58.00 thanks to slickdeals). Maybe I could find another place on the cabinet to put the extra buttons.
