Title: Thickness of wood for mounting joystick?
Post by: GroovyTuesdaY on January 14, 2004, 05:07:33 am
I am wondering what thickness of wood allows you to  mount a happ super joystick without having to do any routing or chipping away on the under side of the top of the control panel?
I remember quite a while back reading somewhere, but its been so long since i built my 4 palyer panel and i am now starting to come up with some new ideas i wanted to experiment with for a 2 player panel and i really dont want to have to do any routing or chipping away of any wood like i did on my last CP.   The panel isn't going to be beaten or abused so i don't need anything super thick, just want to be able to mount the sticks with as little work as possible.  I'm sure i'm not alone on that one heheh.

thanks a mill. :)

Use 1/2" plywood (not MDF or particle board) it is more than strong enough for control panel use and you won't have to route it out.
