Hey everyone,
I am just finishing up my first arcade cabinet build.
I am working on the CPO and I am looking for some suggestions. I got one from game on graphix that looks great. My control panel is MDF 3/4" and I am running T-Molding around the entire CP. I am wondering if I should trim the CPO flush with the Control Panel, or if i should leave 1/4" of CPO and fold it under the t-molding as I put it in place.

I would trim it flush with the panel. Any overhang can cause bubbling of the overlay around the edges, where the T-Molding presses against it.

If I may ask, where did you get a TMNT CP overlay without the characters and button labels on it? I'm looking for that for a build I'm considering.

I got the overlay from Gameongrafix
It is not on there website though. You will have to contact them to get it and order as a custom CPO.

They haven't I just uploaded this to them a few weeks ago! I photoshopped out the original button holes and square turtle image locations so that you could use original artowk on any control panel. When they printed my artwork there was an option to allow them to use your artwork for others in exchange for a refund. Looks like I got myself some free printing!
Looks good on your CP! I'm glad it could be used for others.

Flush. Not sure about the material you are using, but one time I tried wrapping it around with generic vinyl stuff meant to cover speakers.
I got slight bubbles on the corners that would keep coming back.

Shoot me a message sometime if you want my original Illustrator file. It's layered with the characters, how to play labels and logo that you can move around to fit your CP.

As for the original posters question. I cut mine flush and wish I hadn't. When I did the side art I left it long and wrapped around and covered with T molding. It makes a MUCH cleaner install and hides a lot of imperfections. After it was folded over I ran across the edge with a metal ruler to make a fine line/crease. It seems to be holding just fine. It worked well on my side art but the CP art was printed on a different material. I wold imagine the same rules apply but people with a lot more experience than I can probably weigh in.

Thanks, but I don't have Adobe Illustrator, nor do I know how to use it. The version that xckyle used should do fine anyway.

I will follow this as will be putting lexan on my panel when it's finished. Wanted to chime in and say I too love the TMNT overlay. Kudos to you! Is the overlay glued to the panel or just held on my lexan etc. ?

Love the artwork.. Looks great..
