Title: .tar, .rar and track disposal.
Post by: Duhjoker on February 23, 2016, 12:56:32 am
I asked before a while back in another thread but nobody answered me.

When you unzip the cdi and gdi type files you always end up with a bunch .tar files that the first one unzips the cdi and rest I don't know what to do with. Can I delete these .tar and .rar files or are they needed?

Also some games come with a crap load of tracks. What are these tracks and can they be gotten rid of?

because nobody knows WHAT you are talking about. we don't hear the things going on in your head nor see the things you are looking at. you need to communicate information with every post. not everyone may have read your other post in another thread.

is this mame?
is this a game?
What game would this be?

i suspect if whatever you are using can't read the files all zipped up (and you have to unzip them) then it would be pretty safe to delete them after extraction.

Well of course I mean games. Have we forgotten what cdi and gdi files are? Don't know what you mean by what's going on in my head. And I don't know any other way to explain but I will try.

Any cdi or gdi game that comes compressed, you have un-zip and it creates a bunch of .rar files. You unzip the first .rar file and it gives you the CDI. None of the rest of the .rar seem to b able to unzip. Are they needed or can they be tossed?

Example of an uncompressed cdi file. Do I need the .rar files left over?

FFS, just back up the original file, delete what you want to delete, and see what happens. This ain't rocket science.

Why would you ever be emulating the console version of a fighter that has the arcade version emulated?

THe part rar files are all used to extract the cdi file -- WHen you click on the first file it extracts those files and all of the other part files as well -- so NO you do not need the rar files after you extract because they are all already included into the cdi file it creates !

THe .nfo (system file) is the torrent groups info file they include in the torrent !
