Hi everyone, you guys are my last hope, this is the first time I've had to ask for help with my entire cab build, hopefully someone here knows something I'm missing.
Just purchased an Aimtrak gun, works fine in the aimtrak utility, maps perfectly. When I launch MAME to try to configure the x and y analog, I am having absolutely no luck in getting it to register. I have tried both enabling and disabling mouse. multi mouse is disabled, lightgun is enabled. I hit enter to identify the player 1 x analog parameter, move the gun from left to right slowly, but nothing ever registers in that slot, I have tried a hundred times. I start with the gun aimed at the "x analog" line in the config before hitting enter but I do seem to have a hard time not getting the line above or below that not to highlight as I'm moving the gun across the screen. Would that little blip up or down be enough to cancel x analog signal? I'm using mameuifx64 .170 btw, maybe it's a version specific bug? My next step will be trying an older version, this is driving me crazy, and I can't seem to find anyone else having this particular problem. Thanks for any help! :notworthy:

Enable multi mouse should be enabled. Right click on the game in MAMEUIFX and go to the controller mapping tab. Set AD Stick device and Lightgun device to "Lightgun".

Thanks, I enabled both of things but still same result, so bizarre.

Do you have it set up as a mouse or a joystick in the Aimtrak utility?

Have you tried emailing Andy. He's awesome and he helped getting both of my Aimtrak's working in a day.

The aimtrak utility is set to emulate mouse. I will probably email Andy, just thought that I'd throw it out here first to see if anyone else had had a similar experience. Thanks.

Getting it up and running can be tricky but trust me once you get it working, those guns rock!

So in the off-chance this helps anyone else, I totally didnt realize that the horizontal and vertical inis took precedence over mame.ini. Once I enabled the lightgun in those inis everything is working great. Boy do I feel dumb.
