I'm running HyperSpin, MAME 1.49, and LEDBlinky.
When playing a game in MAME, I randomly lose focus of the program. My screen returns to HyperSpin, but I can still hear the MAME application. If I Alt-Tab, I can see that the MAME app is still running. When I attempt to Alt-Tab back into MAME the HyperSpin screen freezes and MAME will not display. I can then hit ESC to close MAME and HyperSpin is back to normal.
This happens sporadically and I have been unable to determine the cause. I've had it occur 30 minutes into a Golden Tee match, or 2 minutes into Donkey Kong. Usually it never happens.
Needless the say, it is frustrating to lose the ability to return to a game you are deep into.
I suppose there are two problems:
1) Why is MAME losing focus?
2) Why can't I Alt-Tab back into MAME?
If anybody has any ideas on where to start troubleshooting, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Kind of weird since its not consistent.
When this outta focus incident happens do your LED's stay with the current game or do they go back to the Hyperspin menu setup? Could be LEDBlinky causing it.
Do you launch the MAME games normally or through HyperLaunch?
Do you use any other software like Xpadder?
Have you checked your task manager when this happens to see if any other apps or processes pop up?

I forgot I had posted this and then it happened a couple times again yesterday.

LEDs stay with the current game. This issues actually predates my installation of LEDBlinky (I guess I should have said that to start with).

Normally.
Do you use any other software like Xpadder?
I am using PowerStrip to run custom resolutions. No Xpadder.

Yeah, nothing that stands out to me. All auto-updaters and task-bar notifications are turned off.
I can live with the loss of focus if I can just figure out a way to get back in MAME once my screen returns to HS. When I attempt to Al-Tab back into MAME I can hear the audio of the game, but the screen shows HS.
I didn't mention it before, but I'm running Windows XP.
