Title: Rockola 476 trouble
Post by: Ollie7777 on February 05, 2016, 04:12:09 pm
I am new to jukeboxes and have recently purchased a rockola 476 (the later style). I've have some experience with record players etc but nothing this complex. Everything seems to work apart from the selector arm which moves the records. It looks to be moving before it tries to grab the record, meaning that when the record finishes the arm lifts before it contracts, missing the single and pushing it onto the floor.  It also does it when taking them from the rack but normally just about manages to hold on to them. I wondered if anyone could suggest what may cause this and whether it's an easy fix. Thanks in advance

This is a simple problem on lubrication.  The old oil or grease that was used originally or at some point has gone sticky.  Get some penetrating oil in there and make it go through its cycle over and over.  Mine was completely frozen and would trip the breaker.  I had to take it apart a bit and move it back and forth manually.  Probably did it 100 times.  Sounds like yours is not quite as bad.
