Title: Ideas for making a simple bezel.
Post by: robbbby on January 31, 2016, 12:09:00 am
I have a neo geo mvs1 cabinet I cleaned up.  The cardboard bezel inside was ripped, taped together and faded.  I want to replace it  with something similar that is just black in colour.  I don't want to buy vinyl for it and would rather just just use a simple insert.  My first idea was paint it but I knew the even taping the glass the lines wouldn't be perfect and i'd have some bleed through.  My other idea was black bristol board with a square cut out in the center.  The only problem is I cannot find bristol board anywhere that is large enough, the bezel would end up having to be two pieces taped together which I don't want to do.
Anybody else have interesting ideas for doing a simple black bezel behind the glass?

Sorry if this has been covered, I searched for bezel, "new bezel", "make bezel" and there were a huge amount of results unrelated to what i'm looking for.

Use what's left of the old card bezel and trace it out on posterboard.  Yeah, it'll be multiple pieces and that's totally fine.

What I do is use tinted plexi and black posterboard taped to the monitor. It's completely hidden and looks good.
