Hi Guys
I am new here and could really do with some help,
I installed a GBS 8200 into a factory machine , I connected it up and i got a picture , The picture is good but i only see about 3/4 of it
the bottom and left side is missing, I am using P11 and connected R,G,B, h sync, V sync and ground
When i try to access the geometry settings you cant access them in the mode that shows the screen , If i switch to another mode i can access the geometry settings, But i cant adjust them in the mode i need to. It says in the manual if not full screen go to menu and adjust zoom ,
Any assistance greatly appreciated

would anyone know why i only see 3/4 of the screen ? possibly a have a sync rate that is not compatible with the GBS 8200 ?
anyone !

have you auto scanned the gbs8200?
are you running this on a lcd monitor?
-
Hi Grantspain
Yes i have auto scanned , and the output is connected to a VGA lcd monitor, i tried adjusting the horizontal and vertical on the monitor but the picture at the bottom is missing , any idea
Thanks

there are some settings called clamp in one of the menus of the gb8200,one should be set higher than the other
there is a post on this forum somewhere covering this
-
Yes those settings are in the Geometry menu , when you are connected to the GBS 8200 using the P11 for RGBS input the geometry menu is not available.
Is it possible to connect to one of the other inputs so i can access that menu ?
best regards

your unit must be faulty, possibly one of the cheap copies
-
Are you sure grantspain , i have read that its not possible to access geometry setting in RGBS mode ?
I bought it off Amazon , i assumed it was a legit one , but i was not aware of copies
-
i have one i use to test 25khz games on my lcd,the osd works on every input
do you have a photo of how it is connected
-
Hi Grantspain
Sorry for the delay,

Here is the pic of the connection , I connected the inputs to the P11 input , when i access the menu and select the different modes if i goto RYBS screen i can not access geometry , RYBS is the screen that i get a good picture , but am missing the bottom 10mm of the screen
-
i don't use that connection,i use the 5 pin
-
Any Ideas on how to connect RYB horizontal sync and vertical sync to the 5 pin ?
-
what game board are you using?
if a standard jamma then you do not connect the vertical sync wire
-
you may need to alternate between futzing with the geometry settings in the GBS as well as the settings in the monitor. (some games I have to use the monitor and the settings in the GBS to stretch the picture way out or move it way off to one side to get it on the screen properly.)
I'm not a real big fan of the GBS 8200 it's kinda picky about what it will take, but in some cases... this is our only option for hooking some things up now.

I hope i am not shot down now its on a cnc machine :o ,
The output is cga, if i adjust the monitor it just shifts the picture from the GBS around the screen but the output picture is chopped off at the bottom.
What are the other options lilshawn?
