Title: Repairing a Wells Gardner D9200 Arcade Monitor
Post by: dskillz1 on January 27, 2016, 03:29:05 pm
My Monitor has started to go south on me! The brightness has gone way down and the OSD when pressed only shows a block box so I have no way of adjusting anything at all.  Only thing I can do is a Degauss but that did nothing.  I have absolutley no experience fixing a monitor and the few TV repair places I called do not repair Arcade Monitors so I have no idea where to turn.
I live in New York.  Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this monitor fixed or know of any shops in NY that will reapir this?

Thanks so much for your time guys! :hissy:

so picture is super dark and OSD shows up as a black box?

easy fixes to try, turn up the "screen" control on the high voltage "flyback" transformer. not a lot, but see if turning it up a bit causes the screen to go gray. or the image to brighten up some to see what's gone on in the OSD.

me thinks the ABL circuit is defective causing the dark picture. it could be a simple as a shorted diode.

it could be something as complicated as a blown out video amplifier. hard to say without actually seeing some pictures or something.
