Hi guys,
I ordered stuff from Andy MANY years ago and can't recall what delivery times were to the UK. Can you guys give me any details on how fast to expect an order once placed?
As an aside, has anyone ordered from Paradise Arcade to UK - again, what sort of deliver times can we expect?
Thanks a lot guys
Ras

When I ordered in December it took 5 days to get from the UK to the US. Pretty fast shipping all around IMO.
-
Cheers mate, appreciate that :)
-
FYI Ultimarc is in the UK.
-
Shipping is insanely fast from Ultimarc from the UK to Canada. I can just imagine how quick it would be UK to UK!
-
Andy processes shipments faster than most. And he uses DHL for international shipping. It is not uncommon for his U.S. customers to receive their purchase within three days.
Not sure about domestic shipping.
-
I've placed 2 orders in the last 3 months. From Ultimarc (UK) to Alaska took 4-7 days from date purchased to date received.

"Ultimarc Delivery times"
Top Notch :applaud:

I've had my stuff get to Oklahoma in 2 days usually. It's insanely good shipping.
-
I'm convinced that Andy must have his own dedicated team of supersonic intercontinental ballistic reindeer or something. My last order was 2 days from the UK to California, damn impressive.
-
Shipping to me (Iowa), took under a week. Although I HAVE ordered an iPAC VE with the free shipping. That took, I wanna say, around 12 days. So 4-6 with shipping charge 10-12 free shipping.
-
Yes, Andy gets his stuff out the door fast, but the rest of the magic is simply DHL international shipping.
-
I ordered parts today and they showed up yesterday. Weird. Seriously I get stuff from Andy UK to US faster than I get it from Tennessee to Pittsburgh.

I get stuff from Andy UK to US faster than I get stuff sent from within my own state!

I live in new york/ U.S.. Ive ordered many packages from andy.. and every one of them has arrived faster as someone said, than my regular domestic priority mail.. Ive had packages arrive in 2-5 days of placing my order. I dont get it, nor question it :)

unrelated, but DHL is the bomb for international orders.
ordered a case of arcade power supplies last week from a manufacturer in China on Monday... received them in our shop in Canada Wednesday afternoon.
Props to DHL. it costs a little more, but man...it's to ya.
Wish USPS/canadpost/purolator/fedex was like that. Ordered an item in the US December 19th...shipped sent air package on the 21st....and just got it yesterday (January 26)...the item (1 ounce) shipping was like 14 bucks...what do I get for 14 bucks?? a month wait?

OK, unrelated to Ultimarc, but I can't take all this love for DHL. I hate them.
It happens every time I order something lightweight from from Newegg with free shipping. (memory sticks for example)
They ship it from NJ. Things from Jersey to here only take 1 day to arrive via UPS or USPS, 2 days at most.
When I buy cables off ebay I look for sellers in NJ because I know it will get here fast.
But newegg has DHL drop the package off to USPS instead of just shipping USPS or UPS to begin with.
DHL plays around with the package for an extra 4 or 5 days and then drops it off at a USPS postal center in Kentucky!
It adds an entire friggin' week to the shipping time.
I'm always disappointed when I receive a DHL tracking number.

Thanks for all the positive feedback on our shipping. Good to hear.
Regards the above though I dont see how Newegg can be using DHL for shipping as DHL dont deal at all with USA to USA shipping.
They only do inbound international to USA. Its possible they might be using DHL for some kind of warehousing or fulfillment service but not for shipping.

They have domestic services in the US.

Not sure what the service is called, but they pick the package up from Newegg and drop it off somewhere in the US Postal service, then it is delivered with my regular mail.
My newegg shipping confirmation says it's shipped via DHL and includes a DHL tracking number.
EDIT: slow day at work, attached pic

DHL rolled out a US domestic service about a year and a half ago. While their international service has been pretty great in my experience (I used them commercially for about 10 years at my last job), their domestic service is pretty lacking - we tested domestic service for a few months but found it uncompetitive with UPS and standard USPS services.

FWIW, ordered a trackball from Andy Monday, it's getting delivered today. :applaud:

Andy is actually not a human being.. He is a robot that ships and emails 24/7/357 days a year

I am in NY and I love there shipping times. Even over the holidays there shipments was at my door in days. Andy himself is good at customer support too, I was having a problem with my light gun and he was responding back and forth with me giving me some support.

I've watched this topic for years and I can't take it anymore. There is a $12 MINIMUM shipping fee. So it's $12 shipping for one ipac or even a cable if the post is correct. But here we have $12 minimum shipping being compared to free shipping with a complaint on the free shipping speed. If you pay DHL a premium, they will get your package on time.
To be fair to Andy, I have never seen him take credit for what DHL does and the "starts at $12" is in bold if you click the link to go to the store. You don't have to dig for it and there are no surprises on checkout. But please compare expensive shipping from Ultimarc to expensive shipping elsewhere. If you aren't in a huge hurry and you are in the US, you save money on shipping if you buy from Divemaster.
So let's recap, for $12 minimum, you get super fast and for less you can have it next Tuesday. Sounds like every product to me.

The added expense for the speed and peace of mind is totally worth it. I'd rather pay and get stuff packaged and shipped properly than receive a video card stuffed in an oatmeal can wrapped in paper to save a few bucks.

mb raises an interesting point, although for at least one particular item I was looking to order from Ultimarc, ordering direct from Andy including shipping is less than the two suppliers I would use for the same item (with basic shipping) on this side of the pond (one Canadian and one American). EDIT: This isn't quite true any more ... see a couple of posts down.
YMMV on duties and taxes though.

Yotsuya, that's a reasonable comment, but you're paying for it. It's not a magic portal, it's simply fast expensive service. These threads always pretend it's something more.
I do apologize for forgetting about our kind neighbors to the north. My comments were regarding the cost to the US. Having said that, even if it's the best price, DHL collects a premium on the transaction. The result is fast shipping.
-
Andy ain't no fool. He knows that fast shipping = happy customers. It keeps guys like me (and many others) coming back.

EDITED FOR MATH
No worries -- you were clear about it being in the USA. And, after I rework the math, what I said wasn't quite true.
For the item I was looking at (the markup does seem to vary by product), I thought Andy was still cheaper if I was having the item shipped from the US vendor to my US address, but it looks like it would be closer than I thought (and I don't want to set up a dummy order and aggravate the poor guy).
The big change is that if I factor in the recent plummeting of the Canuckistanian dollar, the Canadian vendor's price is now way less than Andy's without shipping and they are a 10 minute drive from my house, so "in my hands" time is negligible.
I would be happy to buy from either of the alternative vendors for Ultimarc products that I am aware of. He appears to have chosen good partners.

Let's put it this way. I have every confidence that from the time I click "submit order", the part Andy can control, the "getting the order to the actual shipper" part, will be handled as fast as possible, which is part of the ordering process. My order isn't going to sit there for a few days until he decides to send it. That part IS all Ultimarc and not on the shipper.
