Dear Arcade Controls/BYOAC,
I have abandoned the idea of a top-fire joystick for my retro controller (Atari-style), since TFJs kind of do suck as a general-purpose joystick. I would like to use a small joystick (anybody who is aware of a joystick called "The Arcade" by Suzo International will know what I mean), and I have stumbled upon this:
https://www.arcadeshop.de/product_info.php?item_number=451&products_id=451¤cy=GBP (https://www.arcadeshop.de/product_info.php?item_number=451&products_id=451¤cy=GBP)
It appears to be a 4-way joystick with no indication of 8-way movement (I find the existence of a dedicated 4-way-only joystick hard to believe). If anyone has used this joystick or has had any experience with it, then I would be most grateful.
Yours sincerely,
Swevicus. :)

You'd be correct in finding it hard to believe since the only difference between a 4-way and an 8-way is either a thinner actuator, a restrictor, or some combo of both. A 4-way and an 8-way both consist of 4 switches. An 8-way simply allows two switches to be actuated at the same time.
Anyway... That's a neat looking stick, and pretty small. Not to mention the price isn't insane. I'm looking forward to feedback as that stick might work for one of my projects.

You are out of luck. The grey word 'ausverkauft' means 'sold out'. A little bit further down they state that it's unclear if they ever sell this thing again.

Screw it. I'll just use a Seimitsu LS-32 or a Suzo 500.

Sorry man. I really liked the look of that. I'm curious how Yamatetsu is seeing German... I get English when I click your link.

It's OK :) It's just a temporary setback.

It's a german shop, I'm german, soo ...

Got it, makes sense. The English version doesn't have the Sold Out notice, so I was a little lost. :)

Never mind. I'll get either a Seimitsu LS-32 or LS-56 (not much difference between the LS-32 and LS-40, and the Suzo 500 is out of stock everywhere). Been thinking of putting square (or maybe triangular) fire buttons on my joystick instead of round ones (one of my favourite joysticks, the Zipstik, had square yellow fire buttons, although some versions had pink and even blue buttons). Has anyone had any experience with Sanwa OBSF-24KK or Seimitsu JB-series buttons?

Looks like they just drop the qty box and order link for out-of-stock items on the English version.

The 'sold out' items always are placed at the bottom of the list, so if you find something down there and cannot order it, you are out of luck.
