Title: SUFFERING FROM MAJOR GUILT
Post by: rackoon on January 15, 2016, 02:42:55 am
OK confession time. I have built 6 cabinets (one cocktail and five upright)  after reading saints book and eventually finding this site, 6 or more years ago. In fact, I teach wood shop on Fridays and we built three of those cabinets at my school, turning on hundreds of students to retro-gaming. (we had a whole high school wide Street Fighter competition one year) One of my favorite things to do is check out awesome build threads for great pics of work.

YET, I have never posted a build thread or any of my awesome work (I always try to top KNIEVEL's work, because in my book his work is top notch and a good bench mark) Maybe some of you guys don't even know who he is.   Look him up

I am a worthless dog, no wait I am lower than that. I just take and take with out giving back; not one time. I always plan to but just never get around to it.

I am going to try and change soon, but in the mean time let me ask this:  WHAT PERCENT OF YOU USE THIS SITE FOR ANSWERS TO YOUR BUILD QUESTIONS BUT DON'T GIVE BACK BY SHARING YOUR PROJECT BUILDS? :dunno

Maybe I am missing your point here but there are a lot of ways to help out around here. Encouragement, opinions, answering technical questions - I feel those are the meat and potatoes of a great forum. The fact that people take the time to document their builds is really beneficial and I don't discount their worth one bit but if you don't document your builds you can still be a helpful member of the community. No guilt required.

Its great to have people around to help, and its great to have projects to look at for inspiration and to see how to get things done.

Two sides of the same coin.

My child, I receive your confession.

Your penance is to post a project in the Project Announcement forum, and to submit a score to the latest High Score Competition.

I suppose pic are one of my favorite parts of the this site and I don.t contribute

Maybe pics don't count BUT:

If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Hmmmmm possible too deep.

Well I have contributed in the past with advise so there is that.

I did some custom scroll work with a router on a cab side the the other day so I will get some pics of that up so i can feel better.
