its pretty cool, id prefer something a bit taller i like standing when i play and that thing doesnt look like youd want to shake it a lot with a frantic fighting game

Nice! If you ever want to upgrade the TV you won't have to rework the cabinet ;D
-
that looks like the tv i used in my cab! is that a 20" prima w/ s-video?
edit:
nevermind it looks slightly different, and yours is a flat screen

Intelligent design. This way you can rotate your TV manually anytime you want to play vertical games. It's similar to my proyect. However, mine will be a sit down cabinet with removable control panel. What brand of TV is that? It looks like a 21". I'll be using a 21" Thomson with SCART socket.

Its actually a sony wega (i think) 20" flat screen. One problem with the tv though is that it doesn't have s-video. It does have composite video though. I ordered some kind of pc/tv converter instead of using a video card with tv-out. Once that comes in im going to take a look and try to get a cable that will output to composite video.I was thinking of rebuilding the top and partly sinking the tv into the stand at an angle. I guess that will be next project. Also on the bottom where i just put that marble contact paper, I am planning on putting daimond plated steel as kick plate. I think it would be cool if the monitor was sunk in and you would look down when you play.

I like it. Leaves a lot of room for alteration (such as a 2-piece cab). You could make a top shell eventually and easil fasten it to the top. It's obviously currently just a glorified control panel, but that's not a criticism.

That's nice and similar to an idea I had for a couple of cabs I want to get made for my brothers (cost savings in mind). I want theirs to be a full size so an adult can stand and play at the controls, but I want to keep construction costs down as well, so I was planning on using the Pacman style cab only from the monitor on down, getting rid of all the overhead stuff.
