Title: WTB Monaco GP parts [Phoenix, AZ]
Post by: Slippyblade on January 08, 2016, 06:42:05 pm
So I've decided I wanna build a Monaco GP for my daughter.  She fell in love with the game at Zapcon a couple years back.  I'm looking for parts of the cabaret model.  Anybody have anything?  Let me know and we can talk price.

Thanks!

Good luck, but it's going to be cost - prohibitive. I've researched. Use that version that user here and make her a MAME cab.

I just found that Monaco GP Remake project last night.  Impressive!  I'll probably go that route.

I have some of the boards from Monaco GP :)  I have no way to test them, but I don't see anything that looks damaged.  I was told that they are valuable when I purchased the cabinet, though.

Do you have some interest?  I may have a few other parts for the Monaco GP cabaret as well.

Dude, isn't that game just the best?  I spent waaaay longer on it at Zapcon last year than I anticipated.  Yots is pretty good and showed me a thing a two, once I picked it up I was pretty well hooked.  May have even had a high score up for few hours.  Can't recall.  Would love to have one in the collection.  Build one up!

I love playing it there as well. Should be there again, I'm told.

I think we had that in my local burger joint back in the day, does the wheel shake or have force feedback?

I also think I saw one for sale in OK on CL several months back but it was super high.

I have those boards and also have decided to part with the cabinet.  I could disassemble it for shipping if you like, too.

You got some pics of what you have, Brizzle?  Does that cab even dismantle without damage?  It hurts my head to think of what it would cost to ship a CRT...

Yeah, if you're going to ship it, don't disassemble it. It's not going to be cheaper cuz she's stuck in a box if you're  factoring in all the parts.

If there is no CRT, then shipping a flat pack would be cheaper.  I wonder what Haruman's shipping charges look like for his larger kits...

If there's no CRT then why bother?

Let me rephrase that, if you want to run the original board set, why wouldn't you run it on a CRT?

Oh, and shipping that, the woods not going to the heavy part, it's going to be all the metal parts.

I'd love to.  But depending on things, it might be more economical to source the tube locally versus shipping it from Minnesota.

I would look into seeing how much would cost to ship it down on a pallet. I bet you could get it here for 250 bucks.

I apologize for not replying sooner.  I thought I had photos of the boards on my phone, but apparently, I do not.  I know nothing about them, though :(  I have two of the Monaco GP cabaret cabinets, too.  I had a plan for them, but if you're going to restore them, that takes priority in the hobby, right?!  One of them has the steering mechanism (no wheel), plexi with the original design, and the pedal.

I'll get some photos!
