Title: Horizontal Adjustment K7000 WG 25" Arcade monitor
Post by: actman on January 06, 2016, 09:17:31 am
I installed a new width coil in my monitor since the old one had a cracked core. Simple question..... When I rotate the coil a few turns either way
the screen only changes slightly. Should the screen adjust in and out approx. 1" or so for that adjustment?

When I have the monitor connected to my computer to play mame arcade games no horizontal adjustment is required,  but when I have connect a Pandora's box 4 to the monitor the screen is no longer edge to edge. There is about a 1" boarder down both sides of the screen. I was hoping I could just adjust the horizontal coil and expand the display out. Any thoughts on this?

The width adjustment coil is usually placed in serie with the horizontal deflection coil. If yoy turn the core in or out, you change the impedance of that adjustment coil. It's also my experience that the width only slowly changes when the core is moved in or out the coil. it's also a rather fragile ferrit core, so it's not ideal to adjust it over and over again. On a Mame pc, you can play with the video card frequencies and overscan, and might be able to obtain the correct image with that. You don't have that luxury on a pandora box I assume.

Turns out it is working proper. In mame I can adjust in in out proper so its to do with the Pandora pcb. Thanks for the reply !
