Title: Trouble installing Ultimarc VGA 5000 graphics card
Post by: Alaska on January 01, 2016, 12:05:54 pm
I have a Windows 7 machine and have followed the directions for install on Ultimarc's website. For whatever reason I keep getting the blue screen of death during install.

Here is what I have tried. I went through the initial uninstall process to remove all AMD display drivers. When selecting custom uninstall I got the blue screen of death when attempting to load the drivers on the Ultimarc uninstall utility. I then downloaded the AMD clean and uninstall utility to remove all AMD components. http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx). The clean was successful with no errors reported. I rebooted and started up the Ultimarc install CD. Clicked install. The install began to initiate and then... the blue screen of death after only 15-20 seconds.

I also tried running in safe mode and doing a driver update in Device Manager from the Ultimarc CD (Windows 7 - 64 Bit folder). The prompt states that the drivers are up to date and the most current version is installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: The blue screen states that there is a display issue causing the crash.

Well... I have come up with a solution that seemed to get the job done... Not rocket surgery here...

After running clean and uninstall all AMD drivers, I ran a custom install instead of express intall on the CD. As a result I was able to get the VGA drivers installed with no other issues...
