Hey,
I had all the parts i needed to make a working mame pc except the motherboard, but i got that now !!
-
wow seems like youre going the really inexpensive route hehe. what kind of computer setup you using and what type of games you aiming to play mainly?
-
Well, i dont really know what MAME needs, but this motherboard comes with a 233 mhz cpu and 64 mb ram...
Ive got another 48mb ram im gonna put in it, but im not sure about the cpu speed? I could upgrade it if i have to.
What kinda games am i gonna play, hmmm... pac - man ... space invaders etc.. i dont really know alot of arcade games so im just gonna get what i come accross i guess.

Hmmm, slow processor. Use Mame version .36 final. Should play the classics full speed just fine.

Also, i havent downloaded MAME yet.. Can you change the controls in a config or somethin?

Yes, you can. And to answer a different question from a different thread.
You don't want windows 98 on a processor that slow with a Mame version that old. Use DOS or Windows 95.
-
Ill probably use windows 95 then..

I can run MacMAME on a 233mhz Apple Powerbook with no problems whatsoever. I don't know if the Windows version has steeper requirements or not.

Try to place mame in a directory that doesn't have any spaces in the folder title, such as c:\mame\. The spaces in 'Documents and Settings" screw up the commands.
-
Yeah dude, ive tried that already... ill go give it another try.
Any other ideas?
Edit : It worked, i placed it into C:\ ( which i didnt try, sorry ) and it works! Thanks for the info!
