Title: Should I try to fix this 21 inch computer monitor, and how?
Post by: Hoagie_one on January 11, 2004, 01:34:45 pm
Monitor that I was going to use in my cab, a 21 inch computer monitor, broke.  All I get is a few white lines through the middle of the screen when I boot it.  I tried teh auto correct feature and it moves teh lines around and adjusts the brightness of the lines but i get no usable picture.

Now my question is:  Is this easily fixable and how do I do it if it is?

Thanks
Mike

It COULD be a failed capacitor, as far as I know there are no pre-packaged capacitor kits as in arcade monitors since most PC monitors are just replaced. Schematics might also be unavailable.

Take it to a TV repair shop.  They do monitors too. At least they can quote it for you.

Otherwise, look for computer shows in your area, and you can find used ones cheap. ($75-$150)
