Hi folks. New poster here with an old DK Jr. clone cab I bought from a guys basement years ago, thinking I had an original :(
It has a non-descript stapled together pressed board cab that only opens from the front and is sporting a spliced in
KAGA/TSK KV-19V monitor, which I have found is everything like a mc-2000 chassis. The cab actually plays and looks good EXCEPT:
The problem I have is that I am out of adjustment on Horizontal (in my vertical mounting). The H position is pegged and I am still low on the screen with lots of room at the top.
I am assuming this sounds like a cap issue in the Horizontal? I am thinking I'll replace electrolytic caps I find on that area of the board unless someone has a better suggestion for me.
I love all the beautiful projects here and have some ideas of my own once I get this old girl back on form. TIA

I realized there was a TM on the diagram posted, so I won't publicly display it.

i am pretty sure these chassis have a width jumper on the chassis, should have header pins marked N and W
the width coil would only give you a few cm's adjustment
-
was this width ever good for you or did it happen over time?
I know the pat answer is often do a cap kit but I'd think it may help in this case.
adding of course to what grantspain had already said.

Thanks for the responses, guys.
When I got the game it had lines across the screen in the horizontal and has always been off-center low. I'll get a video up to show what I am seeing later today.
I saw the width jumper on the schematic but haven't tried changing it. I see the problem more in the position of the image than the size since I am unable to fill the top of the screen with the position pot pegged full 'up'.
I just recently began to educate myself on arcade games and am still on the steep newbie ramp of learning, so I wanted to see if anyone could say what I was most likely to be looking for.
I started by cleaning the board connections and that took care of the lines across the screen. The picture is really sharp and vivid except where it is moving off the screen low. Down at the 'credits' the image is blurry and torn and the water looks blurry.
I had assumed I had a 20EZ monitor and bought a Sanyo cap kit before I really looked inside..... the coin doors were locked and the keys missing (of course). Now I know I should have expected to find anything in there since it wasn't the correct cabinet, but that's called learning. LOL
Anyway, I am headed to Philcap to see if I can get a couple caps that I need for the horizontal, but before I go I'll check the voltages. Could a wrong voltage cause an off center screen?
Here's a link to an image of what my board looks like. http://www.jomac.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/Kaga-Nanao-KZ-20EN-L.jpg (http://www.jomac.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/Kaga-Nanao-KZ-20EN-L.jpg)

ok so horizontal position pot adjusted, what about horizontal hold?
also there is a sync switch on that chassis, have you adjusted that yet?
-
Horizontal hold just starts to roll without making the screen climb. What does the sync switch do? I was going to ask about the sync because I don't have a handle on how the sync wires should be connected on this. There is one wire off as I got it..... not sure which right now.
It looks like this monitor was scabbed onto an original two board DK Jr. and they just soldered the wires with no connectors. :banghead:
The good news is that it is working and playing, though. I'd just like to get it as right as I can.

if the chassis is a mc-2000 then it will have two sync switches

you may find you need both horizontal and vertical sync wires connected
