Ok first off i'm pretty new at this arcade stuff, building a new mame machine, so far I've ordered all my controls and im just going to pickup a old crt TV that has component inputs. Doing some research it looks like the following is the best way to get the best picture out of my setup.
computer ---->soft15khz (still looking into what this is) ---->vga out from computer video card---->VGA to component transcoder ----> Component TV inputs
Is there anything i'm missing? I also was wondering what vga to component transcoders should I use? Half I look up no longer exist.
Any help would be awesome!!

if you are not going to use an actual arcade monitor, skip Soft15.
-
Good ones are pricy, crescendo makes one the rcadegaming vouches for.
-
this there a link where you can get any crescendo equipment? because I can't find them.
-
You won't find crescendo because Kim beumer past away a little while ago. He was the person who made the transcoders.

I have a Sony wega kv27fs120 that from my understanding recieves 15khz scan rates

but... if you are going to component video input, it may just be better and easier to get a video card with component (ypbpr) output on it and do it direct.

This may fit your need. Manufacturer says it converts the signal without modification:

ya I have been looking into this one, but it doesn't list 480 I as a resolution that it outputs. it seems this is used to convert to a hd TV instead of a SD TV. I was looking at this though, and I think this might actually work... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Key-Digital-KD-VTCA3-vga-to-component-adapter-/151888477351?hash=item235d423ca7:g:YdsAAOSw4UtWTNSw (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Key-Digital-KD-VTCA3-vga-to-component-adapter-/151888477351?hash=item235d423ca7:g:YdsAAOSw4UtWTNSw)

From the FAQ...
Q: What resolutions or formats are compatible with the 9A60?
A: The 9A60 is compatible with all 18 ATSC formats including 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Remember that your HDTV set
must be compatible with the format of your source unit. For example, a 1080i RGBHV source with a 9A60 will require
your HDTV monitor to accept a 1080i Y Pb Pr component video input.
Looks like the one you found will work as well.
