Hello
So I have installed GroovyArcade onto my AstroCity via a PC with a ArcadeVGA card... everything is smashing but I have a few little issues I cant seem to resolve...
1. CPS2 dont work (just go straight back to attract mode)
2. Paperboy dont work (fuzzy screen)
I installed this from - GroovyArcade-Arch2014.12.25-x86_64.iso (I couldnt use the larger one as it said it wont fit on a CDR and I didnt have any DVD's)...
I tried to update everything from the GA front, but none of those links seem to work (and the section "OLD website" seemed to have older versions)... (how should I be updating things??)
I then downloaded the latest GroovyMame and overwrote the link... (chmod 777'd it) - though I had the same issues before doing this update...
I tried running "groovymame xmcota.zip" in the shell but get a "cant open display error (and a segmentation fault), but if I try "groovymame outrun.zip" or "groovymame outrun" (unsure what one should work) I get the same errors... So I assume this line on the shell is wrong... (as Outrun works fine from attract mode)
I have tried a bunch of CPS2 games and all are the same...
So little stuck on what this is and how to correct it... The monitor is selected as "Arcade 15.7/25.0 kHz - dual-sync"
Thanks for looking...

Update from me...
I installed GroovyArcade-Arch2015.02.15-x86_64.iso onto my cab, I then replaced the groovymame with v0.168_015k... So everything is the latest (and working great), still though CPS2 wont work... CPS1 is fine, as is CPS3, Neo-Geo etc etc...
So something I assume to do with the resolution selected by CPS2 is not compatible with my monitor???
When i run say xmcota.zip, if does not even create a xmcota.cfg file... so I copied a working cfg file and called it xmcota.cfg, the result was the same though...
So is there a way to force xmcota to run in a known working resolution??
Thanks

Hi Wiziscuit,
You can't run GM from the shell, you need an active X session and launch from there. So better run the built-in desktop environment and use an X terminal to test things.
There's nothing special regarding CPS2 video mode that could fail. Make sure you have all the roms and *bioses* required.

OK thanks for the answer, it made me focus more on the ROMs themselves... Seems that I need to add a new file called qsound.zip to the folder, I guess the qsound is now almost like a BIOS... I didnt know that :) So everything is now running splendidly...
Thanks again for all your work on GroovyMame/GroovyArcade it really is most splendid.
