Recently I decided to extend my arcade panel from simple U360 + 8 buttons to more controllers. The first thing I had in mind was spinner. At the beginning I was thinking about TurboTwist 2 but then realized that it won't be enough for Disc of Tron. There is TurboTwist High-Low and price is also almost twice as TurboTwist2. Here is my question - are there any other games besides Disc of Tron that needs such spinner? Or maybe can be used with other games to simplify stering? Note that I don't like any sport games ;)

Forgotten Worlds uses a push-down spinner.

Judging from control panel photos it down direction serves as fire button. I'll probably set rotary stick with traditional fire button instead of spinner and typical stick. Good catch paigeoliver :applaud:

It is indeed fire button but the game doesn't really play well with a Rotary stick and fire button, it sort of wants you to spin fast and all the time. I had a dedicated machine for a little while and I couldn't imagine trying to play it with a rotary stick. Although I also would just not play it or DOT before I would shell out the money for a push-pull spinner.

I think the only other game that used push-pull spinner was/is Zwackery.

Push/pull spinner games
- Discs of Tron (Upright) dotron
- Zwackery zwackery
- Forgotten Worlds forgottn *(only push)

For what it is worth, I have the push-pull spinner on my CP. If you can afford it I'd say for for it.

I bought one for my cabinet because it was a Tron theme and I love DOT. That being said I've not gotten far enough in DOT to even use the Push/Pull yet and have not used it on any other game. It is very well engineered and built spinner but I have to agree with Paige. Save your money and don't play DOT.

Umm . . . that's the old wiki. (We still haven't figured out how to redirect lnks from the old wiki to the new. :dunno)
The new page is at http://newwiki.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?title=Spinners_and_Dials#Push.2Fpull_spinner_games (http://newwiki.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?title=Spinners_and_Dials#Push.2Fpull_spinner_games).
Push/pull spinner games
Discs of Tron (Upright) dotron (push/pull spinner and trigger stick)
Forgotten Worlds forgottn (push spinner and joystick)
Kozmik Kroozr kroozr (push spinner and trigger stick)
Zwackery zwackery (push/pull spinner and trigger stick)

EDIT: Eco Fighters uses a push-only spinner like Forgotten Worlds. (Option added in MAME 0.169.)

This article should resolve all my doubts.

Silly question but where are you getting it? GGG has shown out of stock for ages which leads me to assume that they will not be making another batch.
-
Nobody knows, maybe some day they will produce another batch. I was planning to buy TurboTwist2 but due to high shipping plus import taxies and the fact I cannot pay via paypal I'll probably buy Spintrak from Ultimarc.
