Title: Painting acrylic plexiglass stuff for my CP
Post by: ph349397 on January 10, 2004, 03:55:35 pm
Hey kids, I'm topping a little joystick I just built with a rectangular piece of plexiglass/acrylic stuff, and I want to paint the underside of the plexiglass/acrylic stuff black so that the top surface is shiny and black.  What would be the best way to do this?  Do I need a specific kind of paint since I'm painting onto plastic?  I want to keep the edges free of paint, which scares me regarding the use of spraypaint, i think spraypaint would get on the edges during application.

Thanks

Lay it flat on some newspaper in the garage, give it a few coats to make it even
To make it extra opaque you could shoot a few coats of black, and THEN a heavier weight primer spray to kinda seal it

For the edges you could either use masking tape or just sandpaper the edge after youre done, to get it consistent looking
