Title: Black Piano Hinge
Post by: pfriedel on January 10, 2004, 02:45:00 pm
Does anyone know where to buy a black piano hinge?  I haven't seen one at the local True Value (just the usual gold and silver-ish ones), and I've never actually seen anything other than tools in the big-box-stores.

In the time it took you to log onto your computer, come to these forums and ask that question you could have spray painted a piano hinge any color you want.  ;D

lol @ shmokes

McMaster (http://www.mcmaster.com) might have what you're looking for.  The one piano hinge I have was powder coated black.  It's on a Moon Patrol cabinet.

Nah, I'd have to, at the minimum, go to the hardware store to buy black spray paint, preferably something bakeable for hardness, and then how well would it function as a hinge?  I'll check McMaster, though - knowing they're out there is half thebattle for me.

I stripped the paint off of my coin door piano hinge and repainted it and it works fine.  I originally was worried about it not working but no problem what so ever.
