Went to:
http://cheat.retrogames.com/ (http://cheat.retrogames.com/)
Got the cheat collection for Mame .163 (assuming this is the latest version, most of my roms are .153)
Unzipped the downloaded folder
Placed the internal zipped file (cheat.7z) into MameUIFX root directory
MAME>Options>Default Game Options>Miscellaneous>Enable Cheats
MAME>Options>Default Game Options>Miscellaneous>Point MAME to cheat file (Cheat.7z)
When I push tab in game, still no cheat menu? Am I missing something simple?
Thanks

create a folder named cheat in same location as the executable and put the cheat.7z in there.
See if that works.

Nope. Doesn't work when I launch MAME on its own.
However when you enable cheats on the MAME module on rocketlauncher, then launch your game through rocketlauncher, cheats work. Can't be bothered to figure it out but weird.
Thanks for the input.

Must be a MAMEUIFX bug then with cheats checked is not passing -cheat to the command line I suppose. (not sure)
With official MAME I just tested and it works fine.

you put cheat.7z in the root MAME folder, with the executable, not inside 'cheat' (it IS the cheat folder, compressed)
as per the official cheat page
Note: The XML Cheat Collection archives are double packed. Inside the downloaded zip archive you will find a large cheat.7z. It's this cheat.7z that should be placed in the same directory as your MAME execute-able.
placing cheat.7z inside a folder called cheat isn't meant to work (and by the sounds of it, doesn't)

Yes, he already had it in the root folder originally, so the cheat folder was just a suggestion to see if it would take effect.
Sometimes the hacked builds needs a touch that's a bit unorthodox compared to the official build.
