Title: suggestions for small led lights?
Post by: aldub516 on November 29, 2015, 01:36:37 pm
Hey guys. So im building a custom digdug minicade for someone. They use atari cone style red lights for player 1 and player 2. but rather than spend 80+ for those lights im just going to use new leds. I bought these from adafruit http://www.adafruit.com/products/1439 (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1439) (http://www.adafruit.com/images/970x728/1439-00.jpg)

The first truth is, i managed to burn them both out like an idiot (my first things i ever burned out after all my projects!) Anyways, beside that, these buttons feel pretty sticky and just not good when pressed. I just need 2, small red led lights, that run 5v or less, that resemble those lights, or the cone lights. Just basically any nice red led in a black frame of some sort. Ive been through the endless research of leds, but im sure adafruit wouldnt of been in that pool either way.. so, quick cheap options? thank you all.

There are no quick, cheap options. Just keep an eye on eBay for them. I've gathered up a bit of stash that way.

well.. these lights were 1.50 each and came in 3 days.. so there is quick and easy..  just looking for a suggested mini led pushbuttons from any good vendor.. Which I feel like are all, cheap and quick. Just looking for feedback on any ones that people have used. I dont want the original cone buttons, its just not worth it. Any small pushbutton with some kind of frame will do :)
