Title: Good thing genesim isn't here anymore ...
Post by: CheffoJeffo on November 22, 2015, 10:14:16 pm
... because I just dropped an LCD into my MultiWilliams.

The WG4900 I had in there died and after running RandyF's flowchart I am at a loss. Dropped a spare WG7900 in, but it has convergence issues and I lack the patience to sort it out. jrok's MW board can be switched to output VGA, so I wired up the video from the JAMMA harness to a VGA connector, dropped in a spare LCD monitor (with an available 4:3 setting) and the problem is solved.

It isn't authentic (no matter what that belligerent KoolAid man says). It doesn't look quite right. But it works and was completely painless.

May the purist gods forgive me, I am really tired of fixing old monitors.

Ding!

Right there with you Cheffo. I use LCD's for most of my projects and it's not enough off to take away from the experience, but I do notice it. More so on the classics.

I am seriously thinking about changing at least one of my 60-in-1 cabs over to LCD, except that I want to pull it out of current generic cab and drop it into a Pac cab *and* I have a gorgeous barely-used (I bought it new) 19" monitor in my Galaga (which needs serious cabinet work and I would then part out).
