Anyone know of a good source for tinted glass (not acrylic)
Back when I built my last cabinet I looked around pretty hard online and it seemed like custom pieces were way expensive and then shipping was even worse. I checked a couple of local places and they didn't seem to have what I needed.
I ended up using acrylic.
On my cocktail build, I'd much rather use glass but I'm still not finding reasonable prices.
Anyone know a source I'm missing.
I'm half thinking of using 1/4" acrylic

Remind me where you're at? We have Robinson Glass here in OK and they are incredibly reasonable, however I suspect the cost is in the shipping.
Surely if Tulsa Oklahoma has an all around shop for all your glass needs many other metro areas do as well.

Find out who has the tempering oven in your area and buy direct from them. They're gonna be the ones to cut and bake it anyway. I'm spoiled with one of the main ovens in Chicago about a mile from me. A standard sized bezel 1/4" or 3/16", tv tint, tempered with polished edges runs me about $30.
good day.

I'm in CT.
I'm sure I just need to look harder.

Look for the people who do windsheilds and windows. They never advertise themselves as arcade glass makers ;)

I just went through my local (auto) glass shop to get a piece made for my MK dedicated cab. Tempered 3/16 think ~25x26 was around 30 or 35 bucks. That wasn't tinted, but I am sure that is something you can ask for.

I didn't really think of going to an auto glass place. I was trying places that dealt with other home type glass.
I'll look into that.
That $30-50 range was what I was figuring on.

I've used OneDayGlass.com
it was pretty solid.
But seriously, i'm never doing glass again, but if i did, i'd go through them.
Truthfully I wouldn't mind going with 1/4" tinted acrylic.
But I'm just worried about it scratching and the fact that it's gonna be sitting horizontal on a cocktail cab

Just get some tint film at your local auto store. It is good enough.

This place is a mile from my home in new london. Says they do all sorts of custom glass work for various applications.

I don't mind doing that (though I'd rather not if I don't have to) but I don't have the glass to stick it to.

I'll give them a shot. I'm not too far from there. Thanks

If you're doing a standard midway style cocktail Holland Computers has the tempered glass for a decent price but it's clear. You could always go with an inset tinted plexi which is how those cabs were designed. Otherwise look for a local shop. I've used replacementglass.co once and it was good quality.

My cocktail is a little different. it's gonna be slim.

I managed to find an old tinted glass table top at a local thrift store for $5 that was a bit longer than I wanted. I ended up routing a pass through slot into the marquee area and saved quite a few bucks.
Might not fit the bill for something as custom as this but thought I'd mention it.
