Title: Pac-Man style tabletop cocktail cab build.

I was asked by my wife's cousin if I could build a cab for their son for Christmas. They love Pac-Man and liked the cocktail style. This was the first cab like this I have done so I learned a lot doing it and if I do it again I will make some minor changes to make it a bit easier and clean up some of the rough spots. Overall it turned out really great and everyone that sees it loves it.
It is a 60-in-1 Jamma setup with a Dell 17" monitor.
Built out of 3/4" Maple ply.
It has blue LEDs underneath that are hard to see in the pics.

I am happy with the outcome. It's by no means perfect so don't roast me too hard. ;)

Post by: tomstewdevine on November 19, 2015, 03:21:25 pm: Cool project, I'm temped to put something like this together as well, seems like it would be quick and easy and more importantly...... Cheap! There is another project on the boards that is doing this but putting a bar-table-like-base to it so it's a standalone cocktail which will be cool to find out how stable it is. I like that there is only two buttons as well, it's a nice touch.

I do think you should paint those exposed silver screw heads though, or find a cap for them or something. Well anyway great work.

Mine started out as a lower cost type build but I just couldn't leave it alone and now it'll just take me that much longer.

I don't have a drawing or anything but I can give you the dimemsions.

It is built out of 3/4" ply.

The side panels are 4 3/4" H x 28 3/4" L

All the interior panels are 13 1/2" wide.

Bottom panel is 13 1/2"w x 26 1/2" L

The Control Panels are 6"H x 13 3/8" (slightly smaller for them to sit in nicely after painting)

The end pieces are 2 2/3" H x 13 1/2" W

I used 3/4" square stock to mount the panels together with a nailer and glue.

The Plexi is 17" L x 13 7/16" wide (again, to fit after painting).

It is a standard Dell 1708 monitor sitting on two 4" square pieces of ply for the height needed.
