Hello guys, I am BRAND new to arcade games.... I bought my first pair, Rush the rock. Neither one of the works. One had what seemed like a good monitor, and one seems like a good everything else, so I tried to swap them, to make one working game. well i pumped the end of the monitor and notched off the end parts..... once i put them back the thing stopped working..... holy crap i have no idea what to do. I look everywhere for a monitor to buy but can not find one. Can someone please help me. THANKS !!!!!!!

You "pumped" the monitor... do you mean bumped it, and broke the neck?

Sorry typeo I bumped the thing on the back of the tube, it popped off and the plastic inside broke.... i put it back on in what seems like the right way, but no power =( .... No idea. I have no idea on how to even test to see if they are good, or if is another problem.

post a photo of what you are talking about,if it's pin guide then there is a good chance you have fractured the tube-if that is the case then it is beyond repair,although even with a cracked tube you will still have activity(like lightning in the neck though)

If you broke or cracked any of the glass on the neck... you now have a very nice giant paperweight.

A 19 inch monitor is something you can still handle alone, but anything bigger like a 26 inch requires 2 people to handle imho.
Suzo Happ is still selling 26inch makvision crt monitors. They have a flat tube, so sometimes the tube bezel doesn't fit if you install one of those. They have a 3 sync cga / ega / vga version and they have a version that support resolutions up to vga 800 x 600 if I remember well. They are expensive and cost 500 - 600 bucks.

for a driving game, you might as well just convert it to use an LCD monitor.
the only reason at this point in time to retain a CRT is because it's a light gun game or your one of those crazy purists that must have a perfect looking CRT.
CRT's are becoming unicorn poo by the day.

I love the CRT's in most of my stuff. The Neotec in my Rush though.... I am not a fan of. I spent a bunch of time replacing caps (many didn't match up with any cap lists), resistors, HOT's to get it looking pretty good. Then it starts acting up again pretty much immediately. Image shifts too far to the right with no love from the adjustments, randomly loses hold, and sometimes just gets really dark after a few minutes of running. I have been shopping for deals on a LCD to fit the 25" wide space in the cab.
