Title: Working with Portable MAME-PI v2.0 files
Post by: southpaw13 on November 10, 2015, 08:56:57 am
I love this PI image to get Mame up and running on a PI.  But, i do not have the time to learn all the linux command line codes.

Portable Mame PI 2 has two partitions on the SD card.  One is accessible through Windows, the other is only accessible through linux.  All the Mame files are on the linux partition.  So I made 2 SD cards, one with Portable Mame, the other with Rasbian.  I put the Rasbian SD card in my PI as the main boot, then I put the Portable Mame SD card in a USB adapter and plugged it into the PI.  I ran Rasbian as desktop (startx) then I had screen that looked more like Windows.  The Raspbian desktop let me access and move/copy files to another USB flash drive.  So I copied the Mame files onto it and now I can plug it into a regular Windows PC and work on settings.  Once complete, I will copy the files back into my Portable Mame SD card through the PI using Rasbian.

Seems to work so far, and much easier for me.
