For the life of me I can not remember the site that outlined all the new game additions supported with each version of mame.
So I have to ask what new game additions/improvements have been seen with the release of v.78, as I am keen to upgrade from a much older version?
In particular, are the Teken games now supported as I heard that they would be a while ago?

Well, there's always the whatsnew, for starters. ;) http://www.mame.net/whatsnew.html (http://www.mame.net/whatsnew.html)
Tekken works, but no sound (and slow as buggery on my lowly 1ghz athlon)

What I don't understand is why the even include the non working games. seems kinda silly to me... My cabinet is at 0.71 and I recently aquired all of the 0.72-0.78 files and set up version 0.78 on my regualr pc with only the roms from 0.72-0.78 on it after starting it up I went into the Available tab and wow I was blown away at least 75% of the games had a red icon beside them (I use mame32) 75% of the games from 0.72-0.78 are unusable. why include them till they work. I dunno.

maybe to put them out there for other people to work on and submit fixes???

No it's to officially remove "testdrivers" from the system. The testdrivers were removed from the srouce as some of them are too new to be emulated and the mame devs got sick of seeing pirate builds that simply enabled them.
Of course they have other reasons they posted, but that's probably the main one.
