This is gunna' sound Sooooooo stupid....but....
Will a 3" Atari TB replace a 3" Happs TB? Are all 3" balls the same. (Not talking about enclosure, just the spherical ball)
I'm eyeing a Happs trackball unit, but I don't want to pay $30 at happs to replace the lame white ball.
thanks,
mrC

if its just the ball you're talking about, then I believe a 3" ball is a 3" ball and can be replaced by another 3" ball. I read that someone bought a 3" glass ball from overseas (from a store not relating to arcade gaming) and is now using that clear glass ball in his 3" TB.

Happ's trackballs are licensed copies of Atari's design. All of the parts should be compatable.

Does anyone sell a complete unit with a translucent ball or do you have to buy the ball separately?

Happs Controls sells units with different colors/translucents. Here (http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/560100xx.htm)
They are "WAY" expensive though.

Yowee! Think I'll hold off on that idea!
