So I have a WG D9202 I just bought and I am running my modded computer from
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133968.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133968.0.html)
with an Intel HD graphics card installed , I have can't figure how to get the custom resolutions to work.
I have Groovymame running, I have followed the instructions on how to setup EmuDriver, VMMaker , etc and I'm stuck
when I run VMMaker I get "No compatible video driver found (registry update available)
Extracting mame.xml...
Mame v0.161 (Apr 29 2015)
Generating dynamic mode table... 452 redundant video modes found.
120 modelines generated.
Finished. Press any key...
I also in my VMMmaker.ini file, changed my monitor type to D9200.
When I go to my control panel monitor list all modes , I don't see any of the 15hz modes .
What else so I need to do ?

hello, i would recommend you begin by reading some documentation at this forum linked below,
.. ensure you read the section 4.2 supported cards and performance and note the supported video cards regarding Windows 7 (64bit)

crt_emudriver does not support your intel graphics man. Grab a supported card and you will be in business.
-
Ahh. I guess I believed that for MAME your graphics card did not matter. I thought it only mattered if I was using the different emulators for Genesis, PS, PS2 , and so on. Ok I will get one. Thanks
-
For regular MAME builds, the video card is not a huge factor. The crt_emudriver does a bunch of the magic in a groovymame setup though so there you go. You are going to enjoy it man. The 9200 supports a bunch of modes.

This begs the question. What is the best Graphics card compatible with Groovymame for Windows 7 and is low profile?
-
Just grab a card from the radeon 4000 series that fits your setup.
I run a 4350 with no issues at all. I was running a 4870 but it made no difference dropping down to the slower card. Jist watch on some of the low profile cards from places like ebay are dell specific with a unique connector that looks like dvi but isn't. Its not a big deal if they give you the adapter too but many listings will not include it.

Cool how about this?

remember to check carefully that the video card will fit inside your pc, ie. the connector (pci-E (express) x16 etc),
have spare slots, and also the height (low profile, etc) ... this below has a small height:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/391299438995 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/391299438995) (fanless)
(i use this card above and simply use the vga port.. i did not require to use a dvi to vga adapter)
or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371378284352 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/371378284352)
and of course check if you need a dvi to vga adapter
-
So I bought a Radeon 4550 , i will let you know when I install . Thanks
-
cool, the fanless ati 4550 is the video card i use and i have not had any problems or issues with crt_emudriver and groovymame.
note: when you install the 4550, it might show up/be detected as an ati 4350 video card instead. this is not anything to be concerned or worry about.

Ok , got the card installed this morning , ran the D9202 for the first time , i set it to 640x480 at 60 , I ran vmmaker and it for emu driver 1.2 made the 120 video modes . I than ran OSD not sure what to do now , since it is not switching resolutions in Mame. [Solved]
