Title: Anyone tried these spinners / 360 wheel adapter?
Post by: JayTea on January 08, 2004, 02:18:55 pm: This looks like a fixall for a spinner and a 360 wheel, but I'm wondering how long the thing will last with the abuse it will take playing "Off Road". Has anyone tried these with the wheel attatchment? If not, maybe I'll buy it and do a mini-review of it.

Post by: menace on January 08, 2004, 02:56:08 pm: Looks like a truckers wheel--I would much rather have two devices and some clever scheme to interchange them then that ugly thing. But if you rarely play driving games, i guess it could work for you.

Of course, I won't be able to tell what the long term effects of extended use will be for a while, but I could tell you how they feel when using the spinner and driving wheel and wheter it feels authentic or if it feels like it will break in 15 minutes.

I've seen Oscars' posts before regarding hooking a steering wheel to a spinner, and he thought it to be innefective due to the amount of force placed on the pot shaft (or something of that nature, if I'm not mistaken). I'm wondering if this is simply a cheaply made spinner with a wheel attachment with no forethought on how long it will last under duress.

I think it's just a plain spinner (maybe home made, mouse hack) and the wheel is a replaceable "knob". That thing looks cheaply made and doesn't look sturdy at all for racing games.

thats my 2 cents anyway. :)

However, if you tried to replace one of my knobs from my TwistyGrip Spinner mouse hack, then the amount of force used on that steering wheel would surely ruin my hacked spinners.
