Title: a couple of mame games not working in maximus

I have an issue that I have seen before but have not fixed my issue yet. A few of my mame games are not working in maximums but work just fine in mame32. Golden axe and marvel vs. capcom are a off the top of my head.

It is not an extension issue (.zip, . 7z etc.)

maximums claims there are missing files, yet the games run outside of maximus.

any ideas? I have tried changing the search from short to long.
could this be some kind of gamelist issue?

IIRC Golden Axe is a SEGA game that requires the SEGA bios and Marvel needs the cps2 bios also - did you install the various Bios files ??

yeah like I said the games run fine in mame.

DO you possibly have more than 1 install of MAME on the system and/or are all of your roms in the same folder ?? - could be Maximus is using a different install of Mame.exe that is looking in the wrong folder. CHeck and make sure Maximus is pointing to the correct MAME.exe location and roms folder in Preferences-configuration.  (Ctrl+P - Preferences Tab)

Do you try scan you folder rom?

Maximus have not the good path for your roms , i think.

the thing is most of my mame games work in maximus but only a few don't but the ones that don't work in maximus work outside of in in mame. I just don't get it.

That's why I was wondering if you had a second Mame.exe or roms split off to another folder that Maximus wasn't looking in etc. (ie. older version that had some differences in the file list, names that had been changed on something etc.- where it was looking for an old file name that had been changed in a newer version but was actually there just named different due to a mame update or something. (IIRC Mame had some pretty drastic changes when combining MESS and MAME together awhile back) - I'm still using 0.149 here and those games work fine in both so not sure if something might have changed since then or what version you are running.

the roms are in one folder. there was no other exe. but you make a valid point. maybe if I try a couple different roms it might fix the issue as it seems to be looking for files not found in those particular roms.
