Creates account. Immediately asks for free stuff.  What's going on with this forum??

Sorry. That does feel like a tool move. I had a friend asking is all and told him I'd help.

Thank you for acknowledging that.   btw, just out of curiosity why did you come here to ask for this artwork, rather than a place like KLOV where they handle more original cabinets than BYOAC does?
Did someone direct you here?

I never even heard of KLOV until earlier this morning. I'm learning....

KLOV is the best place to go to for free cabinet artwork.

Star Castle sideart was one of those items that wasn't available for a long time. I don't think it was available when I took a break a few years ago.

Jeff Rothe was working on stitching together pieces of scans to make a file, but I don't know if he ever finished it. I see now that This Old Game is selling Star Castle sideart, so MPO is that you should support them and I expect that others would say the same.

People put a lot of time and effort into artwork projects, so you will get some pushback for what may seem a simple request.

Nice response.

coinopart.com has star castle marquee and CPO art, but no side art. i know it's not what you're looking for exactly, but it it helps, there you go.

if you want high quality side art you really either have to (a) do it yourself, or (b) pay for it as it is a non-trivial amount of work to restore some of this stuff. Another thumbs up for This Old Game -- they have a great selection and quality product.

Exactly right.

And a thumbs-up for CoinOpArt, which is based on a group buy of art files made by BYOAC members (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,61616.0.html) and generously hosted by longtime BYOACer Joymonkey.

Talking about creepy...  I just sent Jeff a message 10 minutes ago telling him if he would send me the side art, I would vector it, right before reading this post.  Hope he responds.  I was snooping on his blog a while back, kind of wondered whatever happened with the project.

Do you know if this the same source as what's hosted on Google Drive, and linked through on arcadeartwork.org?

I am unaware of the origins of all of the stuff from arcadeartwork.org but I can say that there is artwork on CoinOpArt that isn't on arcadeartwork.org and vice versa.

Thanks, Cheffo. I have browsed both of those archives, but hadn't heard the story of the art files group buy until I read the thread you linked above. Pretty cool how everyone came together to "save" the artwork.

Jeff told me it was finished but a third party has the actual file and if I am not mistaken they are selling it somewhere.  Would have been awesome if I could get a hold of it so I could vector it...  :(

Fair enough, but also great and (I dare say) perhaps better that somebody took it and ran with it (my money is on rikitiki at ToG). It's nice when there are cheap resources available so we can self-print or customize, but when there is a lot of work (with full understanding of the work that goes into vectoring ... I am still working on vectoring artwork for MultiExidy art) behind a project, I am happy to see people make some money without fear of encroachment.

:applaud: for wanting to provide a resource.

I found a Star Castle locally to scan and create vector file. I'll post it when complete.
