Get in on this beta this weekend if you haven't already. I fired it up around midnight last night on my PS4. I think this is probably the best looking game I've ever seen. Not a whole ton of content just yet, but what's there is impressive.
-
I played on XB1 for a couple minutes yesterday. Tried getting wp34 on too but his son hasn't downloaded it.
Had a small glitch trying to join a lobby but it eventually worked out. It's a beta so I didnt mind. It was fun for the short time I played.
-
He just texted me that the download isn't working. Too many hipsters trying to download it on a Friday night I guess.
-
Nah hipsters are too busy trying to convince everyone that their special German edition of the sega master system is the best console ever released all while listening to whale songs recorded on Edison phonograph scrolls, while watching a French film of two gay dudes fighting over pudding.

Sometimes they just take up all the good tables at your favorite Pizza place.

Is hipster some kind of slur for young white adult males or something?
Anyway, the game is great. I'm hopeful it will have a substantial single player mode.
-
Hipster was probably a poor choice of words. Clearly a lot of people were downloading it last night though.
The game downloaded overnight but we have been too busy today to try it. My son did say that we would need to create an EA account in order to play. We will give it a try after the Cubs/Cards game unless the game leaves me sitting in the corner comatose like Cameron at the end of Ferris Bueller. :lol

Pbj is right. The graphics are stunning. Vast open expanses that are amazing in some shots just like the movies.
I'll wait a bit to buy it after the release. Good campaign reviews will motivate me more.
-
The graphics really are amazing. I've never seen anything like it. The Hoth level in-particular is something else. When Vader showed up I panicked. :lol

Play the PC version. It is like being on a Star Wars movie set.
-
I think the first 3 star wars movies released were ok. Never got the crazy fanboyism about it. I can imagine if you saw them in their prime they were mind blowing in the way avatar was hyped up to be (but avatar was garbage... beautiful looking garbage.) But all the rest of the movies have killed it for me. If the gameplay is good though I might be tempted to play! I'll download the demo later
-
Well I've said this before. Star Wars was groundbreaking......in the field of special effects. Much like Avatar the films are amazing to look at but are very superficial in terms of plot and character development with plot holes you could drive a star destroyer through.
I get people enjoying the films and looking forward to more, but that's about as far as it goes for me.
Shadows of the Empire and the Super Star Wars series were some of the best games ever on the other hand. They would have been good without the Star Wars brand attached to them.

Even as big of a Star Wars person as I am... I don't have a Bone or a PS4... and I'm having trouble coming up with the desire to buy a current gen console for just one game. Is it really that good?
-
No matter what, I will be holding out to see what the new nintendo offers before jumping on the next gen. Even if I don't want the new nintendo, I would be willing to bet the xbox and ps4 will release a console facelift or price drop to compete.
Besides, with the way they release games these days, there will be an expanded version of the star wars game coming out in 2 years.
-
I heard there is like only four planets is that true? Wasn't what made the original so cool all the different environments and space battles?
-

It's good. Just play it on PC when it comes out.

Heh, don't have a PC that can handle firepower of that magnitude.

I thought it was a great game. It's deff a title to add to the SW software legacy.
I agree with Howard, Shadows, Super SW were great. So many good SW titles through the years. Most of which you could prob put in a cab at this point.
-
There's some common sense adjustments they need to make, but there's potential. The multiplayer doesn't interest me all that much.
-
I wonder how bad the DLC is going to be for this?
I've a mind to wait until the price for the game goes down or I get a deal some place as I'm in no way looking forward to spending over $80 for a game of this type.
