STill working on first build here...vigolix 2 player larger size version.
I mounted the LCD monitor backing board too far forward so the LCD meets flush with the top edges of the 2 sides of the vigolix. Normally in the build the plexi fits nice inbetween the 2 side pieces. Thus the plexi glass will have to go on top of the sides rathter then between the two side pieces.
Does anyone know of a good examples here where someone made this work?
1) I thought about laying the plexi flat...thus laying ontop of the LCD and laying ontop of the 2 side edges. Then using an "L" shaped" molding to hide the mistake.
2) Another alternative was to lay the plexi on top of the two sides and just nail it down with pilot holes drilled every 6" or so. And no "L" molding.
Also the marquee would then have to be mounted the same.
Any advice?
Thanks!

Can you remove and remount the LCD monitor backing board ?? :dunno

Good point! LOL I was hoping to avoid sawing the air gun nails but I guess that makes the most sense.

Yeah, nailing the plexi to the front of the machine would look like ass. Remount the monitor.

Check out the build in my signature. In a nutshell, I cut a groove in the Control Panel to hold the bottom and then secured it on the top using a drop ceiling bracket. The back of the plexi is resting on the top part of the monitor held in place by that bracket.

If you used furring strips for the side mounts and have a smaller monitor with space on the sides (like Delusional did on his - but with smaller side braces) perhaps just moving the mounting to the back side of the supports would work rather than removing the braces from the sides of the arcade.
